Tammie was raised in Sweet Home and loves the small-town community. She spends as much time as possible outside gardening, planting flowers and playing with her dogs. She enjoys cooking and barbeques. Recently she has started doing more traveling and Arizona is one of her favorite yearly trips.
Tammie has worked in the dental field for over 30 years, as a certified dental assistant and then later as administrative front office. Tammie has worked for Dr. Wolthuis since 2005 as his patient coordinator. Working in a small community for so many years has brought her a close and caring relationship with the patients at Wolthuis Family Dentistry.
Shelley, Front Office
Shelley has been assisting for more than 17 years, and has had broad exposure to many dentistry specialties. She returned to general dentistry because it provides the most interesting variety and because she enjoys "educating patients of the importance of good dental health" and making them feel good about their smiles. Shelley is originally from Sweet Home. She enjoys the outdoors, spending much of her free time camping and hiking with family and friends.
Rebecca, Office Administrator & Dental Hygienist
Rebecca graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1999 with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene. Although currently not seeing patients, she can be found behind the scenes crunching the numbers for Dr. Ivan. She stays busy with their four children and in her early morning 'spare time' she loves to run, swim, and bike. She likes to bake and spend time outdoors with her family.
Nanette, Dental Hygienist
Nanette has had a degree in dental hygiene from Utah Valley University since 2000. She has augmented her education with specialized training in Myofunctional Therapy under Sarah Hornsby and earned certification as an Oxygen Advantage Instructor through Patrick McKeown.
With steadfast focus on delivering excellent care, Nanette ensures her patients are at ease in the dental office setting. Outside of hygiene, she serves as an empowerment-based self-defense instructor with the Arketa Foundation.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Nanette is an oil painter, interior decorator and enjoys kayaking in the scenic Pacific Northwest. Together with her husband Duane, she treasures quality time spent time with their children and grandchildren, all residing in Oregon.
Becca, Dental Hygienist
Becca enjoys her work as a hygienist. After living in various regions of the US, she and her husband settled in the Willamette Valley to be near family and raise their 3 girls. She likes traveling, camping, water activities and reading. Care for others is important to Becca, and she believes good oral health has a significant impact on an individuals overall health, social acceptance and self esteem.
Shawna, Dental Assistant
Shawna was born and raised in Sweet Home, where she still resides with her husband Fritz of 24 years. She joined the dental field after raising her two sons, Ricky and Robbie. Ricky is enrolled at OSU in the Marine Corps ROTC program, and Robbie is enlisted in the US Navy. She loves engaging with patients and making sure they are very well taken care of. Her positive, caring personality is a perfect for the dental field.
Shawna loves spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite thing is to be out doors, backpacking, hiking, hunting, and running.
Makayla, Dental Assistant
Makayla graduated from Sweet Home High School in 2017. She has her Associates of Arts and Sciences from Big Bend Community College and completed dental assistant training with The National School of Dental Assisting in Puyallup, Washington in 2020. After completing school Makayla was employed at a pediatric dental office in Olympia, WA where her curiosity grew and she developed a passion for the field of dentistry.
Makayla currently resides in Sweet Home with her son and loves to spend her free time with him. She also enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and being outdoors when the sun is out. Since she was born and raised in Eastern Washington, the climate in the Willamette Valley took some time to get used to but she has come to know and love Sweet Home as her home because of the beautiful terrain and the caring community.
